On April 22 and 23, the 8th consortium meeting of the European HYPER project took place in Florence. The project, funded by the European Union, brings together partners from both research and industrial environments with the aim of developing sustainable solutions for the chemical industry.
The HYPER project focuses on the development of an innovative technology for the fully green electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide—a chemical widely used in various industrial processes. The goal of the project is to reduce the environmental footprint of production and to provide a sustainable alternative to existing processes.
Review of Progress and Key Next Steps
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to presenting the progress of all project partners. Participants showcased their activities, key achievements, and the challenges they face in developing the technology.
Belinka Perkemija particularly highlighted the preparations for the demonstration of the HYPER unit, which will take place at our site. This represents one of the key milestones of the project, as the demonstration in a real industrial environment will enable validation of the technology’s efficiency and its potential for wider application.
Connecting Experts and Looking Ahead
The second day of the event was open to external visitors, to whom the partners presented the project, its mission, and the results achieved so far. The aim was to communicate the importance of developing sustainable technologies to a broader professional audience.
An important part of the program was the presentation of the project’s future vision by Andrej Podkoritnik, Head of R&D at Belinka Perkemija. His perspective encouraged discussion on further development, technology upgrades, and the transfer of results into industrial practice. He also actively participated in a panel discussion, where he highlighted key challenges and opportunities in implementing new technologies and emphasized the importance of close collaboration between industry and research institutions.
External partners also made valuable contributions to the discussion by sharing their experiences and views on future development and collaboration opportunities. Their input opened up new perspectives and further broadened the understanding of the project’s potential.
A Step Closer to a Sustainable Industry
The meeting in Florence once again confirmed the importance of international collaboration in the development of advanced, environmentally friendly solutions. The HYPER project represents an important step towards a more sustainable chemical industry, with Belinka Perkemija making a significant contribution through its active involvement.
